Health and social care providers have a responsibility in line with the Health and Social Care Act 2012 to do all that is reasonably practicable to mitigate risks, including ensuring the safety of their premises and any equipment within. This includes implementing control measures to ensure that the impact of such risks remains as low as possible. In the context of emergency or crisis situations, this can be best achieved through a comprehensive and considered Emergency and Business Continuity Plan.
