Ensuring the safety of a client’s home is an essential aspect of providing high quality care and safeguarding against abuse. In addition, the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 requires employers to ensure the safety of their staff members, which would include when entering and exiting a client’s home.

Specific accessibility needs will be reviewed during the initial client assessment for both staff members and clients as per the Equality Act 2010 (refer to the Equality & Diversity Policy). Access to buildings is a core part of considerations.
