A number of organisations release safety alert documentation with a view to informing healthcare providers of any potential risks and issues that may be relevant to their products or services. Safety alerts are disseminated nationally through a number of centralised systems, including the Central Alert System from the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
Safety alerts can come from individual suppliers and manufacturers, as well as internally from within companies – if there is a need to share significant learning throughout the business, for example.
